Tunnel is an important segment of construction engineering. Because of this fact, the topic of this diploma thesis is the area of the tunnel. The diploma work is a brief overview of the classification of rocky material, environment in which tunnels are made, further showing the basic methods of making tunnels.
Given the fact that tunnel’s support is very important for their stability, within the diploma thesis are presented supporting materials that are commonly used in the tunnel, with special emphasis on the steel anchor.
