ABSTRACT
Problem of research work are doubtful debts in the banking sector. The paper begins with an
analysis of banking risks and then goes on to analyze uncollectible receivables and analysis of
risky loans.
The traditional role of banks can be seen as a transformation of the cash given the scale, location
and liquidity, time period or maturity and risk, in order to reduce the negative effects of
asymmetric information and transaction costs at the (imperfect) markets. Specializing in the
production and processing of information, the banks are fulfilling their service functions, as well
as the distribution function of the fi nancial markets. Because the bank practically take deposits
from savers and further placed through loans and other forms of loans borrowers, who do
business with risk, banks can take advantage of risk diversification in terms of type of placement,
maturity and other characteristics, in order to absorb the risks contained in the transactions
placing resources.
Banks are in addition able to transfer risk and thus share it to a larger group of participants in the
market. Herein lies the basic ability of banks to create value: the ability to allocate risk at
minimal cost, through trading risks contained in various types of financial investments.
Since banks operate with financial resources, they are by definition in risky financial operations.
Because of the simple fact that banks produce, sell and perform service activity with funds, banks
transform, manage and assess risk. For this reason, risk management plays a central role in
mediation and is an integral part and a key area of banking.
Risk management is also one of the most promising sources of maximizing the value of the
banks. The basic question is, how risk management can contribute to this overall goal. As the
positive results of the Bank result of good strategic planning and the possibility of banks to create
clear competitive advantages, the implementation of risk management strategies will also lead to
an increase of capital. In order to ioncrease its own capital, it is necessary that the bank transfer
part of the risk on the other participants in the market.
