What is Syntax?

1. In essence, syntax is a sentence and phrase structure. Syntax is the branch of grammar dealing with the organizations of words into larger structures, particularly into sentences; equivalently, the study of sentence structure.
2. Knowing a language includes the ability to construct phrases and sentences out of morphemes and words. The pat of grammar that represents a speaker’s knowledge of these structures and their formation is called syntax.
