The content of this work is focused on specific aspects of socio-medical problem, the
Burnout Syndrom in social work. Burnout at work is characterized, as the authors state,
emocional exhaustion, depersonalization and low personal accomplishment. This paper
describes the effects of stress in extremely complex, difficult and responsible professional
activity of social workers in institutions on the territory of Novi Sad and the district. The
empirical part of the work includes the analiysis of the results obtained through The general
questionnare and MBI-HSS and BM questionnare. The results save confirmed the
assumption of a high degree od burnout in social workers. Research is confirmed three
hypotheses, but the most important one is the hypothesis that the Burnout Syndrome is
present in most of the social workers.
